2-3" Crushed Stone

The 2-3” Crushed Stone or Tracking Pad is primarily used as a tracking pad for entrances of construction projects and job sites to keep mud and dirt off the roads. Installing a tracking pad made of larger crushed stone is often required by cities and towns for a project to start excavation and site work. The jagged edges on crushed stone combined with the large size of the rock helps to force dirt off the tires of trucks going in and out of the jobsite. Some drainage systems such as French drains, trench drains, and stormwater management systems use this size crushed rock or a 1-3" round Gravel. The large size allows for excellent drainage capacity and helps prevent soil erosion. In large-scale construction or land reclamation projects, 2-3" crushed stone can be used as a base fill material below process when raising the level of a wet and muddy grade. Others can create embankments, or restore natural landscapes.
